WWETT Show kicks off Monday in downtown Indianapolis

Brothers Travis and Derek Ouimet spent most of Sunday preparing the Transway Systems truck for the Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show.

Travis was excited for his first experience at the show and was spending Sunday shining up the impressive truck the company brought down from Toronto.

“It’s going to be good for me to see the other trucks and equipment here,” Travis says. “I’m excited to experience this for the first time.”

Transway Systems is showing a truck they manufactured for Aqua Drain Sewer Services in Ottawa, Ontario. The truck sports a checkered flag wrap on the front and the rest of the truck is a dark blue color.

“I figured with the show being in Indianapolis that this truck with the checkered flag would be a good fit,” says Gary Robinson, of Transway.

The truck, mounted on a Western Star twin steer tandem chassis, sports a 2,500-gallon waste collections tank, 1,200-gallon water tank and a fully enclosed heated and insulated 6,400 cfm blower with 27-inch vacuum. It has a 26-foot, 8-inch hydraulic boom.

Other manufacturers also had crews shining up their trucks throughout the day as well. Alex Lautwein was working on detailing the front of a bright red Vactor truck late Sunday morning in the Wastequip booth.

“I’m not looking forward to the chrome on this, it’s going to take a lot of scrubbing,” Lautwein says.

Robert Anotts with Hi-Vac Corporation was cleaning one of his company’s trucks Sunday afternoon, saying the snow on Saturday as they were coming in made the vehicles a bit messy.

“We’ll be working at this for a while today,” Anotts says. “We’re going to get it looking real nice for the show.”

The WWETT Show kicks off Monday with Education Day, while exhibits open on Tuesday.
