Continental Tire names retreader licensee

Continental Tire the Americas named Hill Tire Co. of Forest Park, Ga., as a licensed retreader for its ContiTreads truck tire brand. The company’s Forest Park and Valdosta, Ga., facilities produce more than 110,000 threads annually. Hill Tire serves truck fleets in Georgia, Alabama and northern Florida.

Caterpillar signs power projects agreement with Zahid Group

Caterpillar entered into an international power projects agreement with the Zahid Group and its new subsidiary Altaaqa Global. As an IPP partner, Altaaqa Global will provide multi-megawatt temporary power plants, supported by partnerships within the Cat dealer network.

Honda receives MarCom Awards, donates generators

Honda Power Equipment, a division of Honda Motor Co., received two MarCom Awards for its computer-based dealer and distributor service training modules. Honda Engines received the Platinum Award for its maintenance course and Honda Marine received a Gold Award for its propeller basics course. The awards were presented by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Honda Power Equipment also provided Operation BBQ Relief with two of its Super Quiet Series portable generators. The relief effort cooks and caters meals for victims of natural disasters.

Philippi-Hagenbuch co-founder inducted into hall of fame

LeRoy G. Hagenbuch, P.E., chief engineer and co-founder of the engineering and manufacturing firm Philippi-Hagenbuch, Peoria, Ill., was inducted into the inaugural class of the Pit & Quarry Hall of Fame. Hagenbuch is credited with more than 80 patents, including innovations that have enhanced rock hauling, reduced overburden and minimized material carryback.

T-Rex adds 35th hydroexcavation truck to fleet

T-Rex Hydro Excavation and Industrial Vacuum Services of Houston, Texas, added a 35th hydroexcavator to its fleet, with plans to add 14 more GapVax HV-55 hydroexcavators and 40 employees by year’s end. T-Rex provides non-destructive hydro and air excavation services through four offices in Texas, serving a growing number of projects from shale oil exploration and pipeline construction in the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin areas.

J&J Truck Bodies names director of business development

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers named Jason Cornell director of business development. He will be responsible for product analysis, market research and product definition, design and launch. Snap-on takes tools on tour

Snap-on took its tools and equipment for the oil and natural gas industries on tour this spring, stopping at National Oilwell Varco Wilson distribution locations in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma as part of its Industrial Tools Tour. The tour included product demonstrations and technologies for asset management and tool control.
