Manitou supplies safety equipment for Grand Prix

Manitou was the official safety equipment supplier for the U.S. Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas race track in Austin, Texas. Manitou Americas transported 18 telescopic handlers and provided 20 operators for the Formula 1 race in November. The team assisted in the removal of disabled vehicles from the track.

Oil and gas jobs dominate growth projections

Seven oil and gas occupations rank among the top 25 projected fastest-growing occupations, accounting for 41,166 new jobs through 2017, according to a report from CareerBuilder and Economic Modeling Specialists International. Topping the list are rotary drill operators (4,925 new jobs, 19 percent growth), derrick operators (4,470, 19 percent), service unit operators (11,220, 18 percent), roustabouts (10,826, 17 percent), petroleum engineers (5,516, 14 percent), geological and petroleum technicians (2,154, 13 percent) and wellhead pumpers (2,055, 13 percent).

KOHLER donates generator to Seaside Park

KOHLER Generators donated a commercial-grade, standby generator to Seaside Park, N.J., scene of two disasters. In October 2012, Superstorm Sandy swept away the borough’s boardwalk and nearby amusement park, destroying homes and businesses. In September 2013, the community’s rebuilding efforts were set back by a boardwalk fire. The generator will be used to provide power for the administration building at 1701 North Ocean Ave. The building serves as command center and shelter during a crisis situation.

Target Logistics expands to Canada

Target Logistics opened its first workforce lodge in Canada, a 278-bed open camp in the Athabasca oil sands region. Renovation, including new sleeping rooms, kitchen, dining facilities and recreation areas are scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
