GSE Lining Technology rebrands as GSE Environmental

GSE Lining Technology of Houston rebranded as GSE Environmental following its listing on the New York Stock Exchange and to reflect its transition as a global organization. The company’s brand identity includes name change, logo and tagline, “Durability runs deep.” The company’s subsidiaries also acquired certain manufacturing equipment from Poly-America LP and Poly-Flex Inc. for $7.5 million.

 

Wabash National to acquire Walker Group Holdings

Wabash National Corp. has agreed to purchase Walker Group Holdings of New Lisbon, Wis., and its Progress Tank and Tri-State Tank divisions. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2012. Based in Lafayette, Ind., Wabash specializes in the design and production of refrigerated vans, dry freight vans, flatbed trailers, dropdeck trailers, truck bodies and intermodal equipment.

 

Dixon opens Maryland innovation center

Dixon opened a 12,000-square-foot innovation center in Chestertown, Md., for the development of new products for the company’s specialty market segments. The center is dedicated to company founder Howard W. Goodall and his son Richard B. Goodall, who headed the hose fittings and accessories business from 1916 to 1994.

 

Felling employees participate in Minnesota Food Share

Employees at Felling Trailers filled the original Felling trailer with 116 pounds of food and collected money for the Sauk Centre Food Shelf as part of Minnesota Food Share’s March campaign. Merle J. Felling, company founder, president and CEO, built his first trailer in 1974 at age 10 to haul rock and hay bales to the barn. The trailer was refurbished for the company’s 30th anniversary in 2004.

 

Legacy Equipment acquires AG Truck, The Truck Shop

Legacy Equipment Co. acquired AG Truck Equipment Co., supplier of truck-mounted equipment and specialized vocational trucks, and The Truck Shop, a retail store for truck and van storage. The new entities will be combined with Legacy Equipment Rental to form Legacy Equipment Co. AG Body will continue to operate independently.

 

Polar Service names manager, opens store

Polar Service Centers named Jerry Cignarella general manager of its northeast region. He is responsible for locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The company also opened a location in Killdeer, N.D. The facility provides parts for all makes of dry and liquid bulk tank trailers and truck-mounted tank bodies.

Manitou Americas opens dealer training center

Manitou Americas opened a dedicated training facility for its XPRT training department at the company’s Madison, S.D., location. The facility includes 8,100 square feet of indoor space for welding, presentations and classroom training, as well as an outdoor demonstration area for its Gehl, Manitou and Mustang dealer networks.

 

TBEI names financial leader, director

TBEI named Jerry Frost, vice president of finance, successor to David J. Strehl, CFO, who died last December. Frost has been with the company for 12 years, most recently as controller/CFO for Ox Bodies. TBEI also named James “Archie” England director of engineering.

 

United Rentals completes RCS acquisition

United Rentals completed its acquisition of RSC Holdings in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $4.2 billion, including $2.3 billion of net debt. Jenne K. Britell will remain chairman of the board, which includes the existing United Rentals directors and three of RSC’s independent directors: James Ozanne, Pierre Leroy and Donald Roof. The board also approved a new share repurchase program of up to $200 million. As part of the acquisition, United Rentals merged all of RSC’s U.S. domestic subsidiaries, including its principal operating subsidiary, RSC Equipment Rental.
