Atlas Copco names vice president of store operations
Ed Tanner was named vice president for Atlas Copco Store Operations-Mining, overseeing the Elko, Tucson, Phoenix and Denver locations. Tanner had been business line manager for the company’s Underground Rock Excavation division.
U.S. Silica exceeds sustainability targets
U.S. Silica exceeded its 2012 sustainability targets, including workplace safety, community investment and environmental protection. The company achieved a 55 percent reduction in days lost to injury and contributed $309,000 to charitable organizations. It also decreased its carbon footprint by increasing use of rail transport and co-founded the Wisconsin Industrial Sand Association to ensure responsible industry operations.
Kalmar completes rough terrain container contract for military
Kalmar RT Center built the last of 1,244 RT240 rough terrain container handlers for the U.S. Department of Defense. Fulfilling the military contract increases capacity for manufacturing commercial grade vehicles.

Brian Binke, president of The Birmingham Group, was named 2012 Worldwide Billing Manager of the Year by MRINetwork. The Birmingham Group specializes in the search and recruitment of construction industry professionals.
Bulk Aviation Transportation Tank featured on TV series
The Bulk Aviation Transportation Tank (BATT) was featured by Buffalo Airways on the Ice Pilots TV series. Buffalo Airways purchased two BATT 2100 tanks to fit its Electra aircraft, enabling it to haul up to 4,200 gallons in one trip, completing 46 ice airship fuel deliveries.
Blackmer launches oil and gas microsite
Blackmer launched www.psgdover.com/en/oil-and-gas/psg-oil-gas, a microsite for operators in the oil and gas industry. The site was developed to help distributors and customers understand how utilizing sliding vane pumps can improve efficiencies, reduce cost, minimize maintenance and limit downtime. It also features an industry overview, forecasting growth within the markets, spotlights shale oil and gas production, examines key regulations and identifies challenges facing operators today.

ThinQk adds aftermarket pump components
ThinQk is a new supplier of aftermarket parts for air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps. Manufactured in Europe and the United States, components are made to conform to current technical standards.

National Oilwell Varco of Houston completed the acquisition of Robbins & Myers, supplier of engineered equipment and systems for the municipal and industrial markets, including Moyno pumps and Chemineer fluid agitation products.
SOR founder passes away
Roy Dunlap, founder of SOR Inc., passed away at age 90. Starting with $2,000 and one employee, Dunlop opened a machine shop in 1946 and leveraged the static-o-ring technology to invent a mechanical pressure switch in 1956 that helped prevent the overfilling of oil tanks. Dunlap remained involved in the business and on the board of directors until his passing in April. His daughter, Linda Dunlap, assumed the role of board chairman in 2010.

Baldwin Filters expands headquarters
Baldwin Filters, a CLARCOR company, broke ground on the 400,000-square-foot expansion of its headquarters and distribution center in Kearney, Neb. The $40 million project is scheduled for completion in 2015. It will double the number of loading docks at the facility and feature an upgraded warehouse management system.
Itron joins Smart Cities Movement
Itron joined global leaders Cisco, IBM, GE, Microsoft and AT&T as a founding member of the Smart Cities Council. The group is dedicated to creating smart, sustainable cities with high-quality living and high-quality jobs. It will develop targeted resources for core city departments and functions, including environment, economic development, energy, health and human services, public safety and security, transportation, waste, water and wastewater.
Altaaqa Global installs temporary power plant
Altaaqa Global CAT Rental Power designed and installed a 24 megawatt temporary power plant in the Sultanate of Oman. The plant will supply power to the electrical grid during times of significant increase in temperature control equipment, ensuring peak performance during the hottest months of the year.

J&J Technical Services named B. J. Turner to its team of oil and gas artificial lift sales professionals. He will be responsible for business development in Southeast Texas.
OPW combines leadership, business units
OPW Fueling Components, sister company of the OPW Fluid Transfer Group, combined its leadership structure and named David Crouse group president. Tim Warning, OPW Fluid Transfer Group president, was named president of a company within the Dover Engineered Systems segment. Susan Hathaway was named chief financial officer for the OPW group, Ann Miller was named vice president, human resources, and Steve Van Pee was named vice president and general manager of the group’s chemical and industrial business unit. OPW also combined its Above Ground and Below Ground business units. The new group will be known as OPW Retail Fueling. Mike McCann was appointed vice president and general manager of the combined company.

National Pump & Compressor, an industrial equipment rental, sales and service provider, launched the www.hurricanesupport-beaumont.com website to provide awareness of the emerging disaster recovery business. The site is intended to provide businesses and municipalities with information on how to prepare for a hurricane, history of areas affected by hurricanes and how the company can help in the event of a hurricane or natural disaster. It includes information on industrial pumps, hoses, generators and other flood relief and dewatering equipment.

Moro USA named Matt Gibbs, based in Salt Lake, Utah, western U.S. sales manager. He will be responsible for sales and business development in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, North Dakota and South Dakota.
NexTraq expands Atlanta sales center
NexTraq, a GPS fleet tracking and asset management company, expanded its Atlanta sales center, adding 12,000 square feet of office space and increasing its staff of employees by 33 percent. The company also was named a Top Workplace in Atlanta and American Business finalist of the year.
J&J Truck named Fascan International distributor
J&J Truck Equipment, a division of Somerset Welding & Steel, was named an authorized distributor for Fascan International, a U.S. supplier of Fassi hydraulic articulating cranes.

Plibrico Co. added Clayburn Refractories to its contractor network. Headquartered in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Clayburn focuses on refractory applications in the petrochemical, oil and gas industries. It will be Plibrico’s exclusive PliPartner in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
Pump Solutions Group names vice presidents
Pump Solutions Group, a business unit within Dover Corp., named John Pepper vice president of integration; Andrew Usuki vice president, sales and business development, Americas; and Tomas Valencia vice president, sales and business development, EMEA. Pepper will be responsible for driving the global integration of Brookvale, Australia-based Ebsray Pumps, a regenerative turbine, sliding vane and gear pump manufacturer acquired by PSG. Usuki, previously vice president of PSG’s vertical market, will replace Pepper. Valencia will be responsible for sales and business development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for PSG companies.

Pelican Products named Shailesh Bambardekar vice president of operations, Torrance, and Scott Nicholson vice president of worldwide quality. Michael Garcen was named product manager, consumer electronics.
Deist Industries rebrands logos
