Dependable nonclogging pumps are a staple on the work site, keeping materials moving and production constant. Here are several pumps designed to meet all job site needs.

Slurry Pumps

Submersible slurry pump

KZN heavy-duty submersible slurry pumps from BJM Pumps feature agitators, wear plates and semi-open impellers all constructed of abrasive-resistant 28 percent chrome iron (600 Brinell, 57 Rockwell C). The agitator helps keep solids suspended in liquid and helps prevent the pump from clogging, reducing capital and operating costs. A top discharge and slim design allow for an easy fit into tight, thin spaces. It has Class H motor insulation, double silicon carbide mechanical seals and heavy-duty seal. Volutes are cast from hardened ductile iron. Applications include lime slurries, mill scale, coal runoff sumps, ash down sumps, ash transfer, tailings ponds, slag pits, food wastes, silt removal, sand and gravel dewatering and barge and tank clean out. 877/256-7867; www.bjmpumps.com.

Mini dredge

The versatile Mini Dredge from Dragflow North America features a heavy-duty dredge pump and can be truck transported with the outriggers folded up. It is stable enough to manage large pumps when deployed, and pumps up to 70 percent solids with rocks and roots, making it ideal for waterway dredging, reservoir capacity maintenance and tailings recovery. Units can be remote controlled. 604/921-7112; www.dragflow.us.

Rotary lobe pump

The TORNADO T2 rotary lobe pump from NETZSCH Pumps features lobes running inside a metal housing with a replaceable elastomer liner. This design doesn’t require O-rings or gaskets, yet delivers robust construction along with simplicity and ease of maintenance. A single, synchronous-toothed timing belt eliminates the maintenance-intensive and costly gearbox. A pulsation-reduction system of channels molded into the rubber walls of the pumping element releases lobe energy and dampens pulsation. The housing design permits full flange-to-flange access when servicing the pump, and offers more room to get into pump internals without having to disassemble piping. 610/363-8010; www.netzschusa.com.
