Caterpillar Receives Tier 4 Interim Certification
Caterpillar’s Cat C13 ACERT and C15 ACERT engines have received Tier 4 emissions certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The engines will be used to power mid-range track-type tractors, motor graders and hydraulic excavators.
STW Resources Holding Finalizes Stock Symbol, Forms Partnership
Water reclamation company STW Resources Holding Corp., based in Midland, Texas, has received FINRA approval to have its stock quoted on the Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board (OTCBB). Shares began trading in November under the STWS symbol. STW provides customized water analysis, reclamation and remediation services to industrial and municipal applications.
In other news, STW and privately held Aqua Verde LLC have formed Water Reclamation Partners LLC to provide water solutions for oil and gas producers, municipalities and environmental remediation projects.
StoneAge Named Top Colorado Company
StoneAge Inc., Durango, Colo., was named a Top Company award winner for 2010 in the manufacturing category by ColoradoBiz magazine. The award recognizes Colorado businesses that demonstrate sustained financial performance, operational excellence and community involvement. MSA has acquired General Monitors, developer of fixed systems for gas and flame detection. The acquisition enables MSA to strengthen its position in the global oil, gas and petrochemical markets by adding a brand of detection systems to complement its product line.
Bigge Crane Expands Richmond Operation
Bigge Crane and Rigging has expanded its Richmond, Va., operation, relocating to a facility more than twice the size of its current yard. The new Richmond location will cover 12 acres and be the headquarters for all heavy haul transportation and crane and rigging operations on the East Coast.
Accutech Wireless Doubles Manufacturing Capacity
Control Microsystems, a Schneider Electric company, has expanded the manufacturing capacity of its Accutech wireless instrumentation facility. The company has doubled the size of its workforce and manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand. The company’s product line includes acoustic monitors, pressure, temperature and flow instruments for the wastewater, oil and gas industries.
Ruhrpumpen Opens West Coast Manufacturing Facility
Ruhrpumpen opened a manufacturing facility in Orlando, Calif. The plant will produce LS Barge pump, axial flow and propeller units for the municipal and industrial markets, including the maritime transportation of petroleum distillates. The new plant joins locations in Tulsa, Okla., Germany, Mexico, Egypt and Argentina.
Konecranes Expands Machine Tool Business
Konecranes expanded its Machine Tool Service business with the acquisition of King Tool Co., Erlanger, Ky. King Tool had $3.9 million in sales in 2009 and 15 employees. Company founder Bob King will remain with the company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Vac-Con will feature the DuPont Imron Elite coating system on its new industrial cleaner, vacuum and hydroexcavating equipment. The primer’s advanced resins increase impact and chip resistance, while Imron Elite technology delivers gloss and color retention.
Force America Opens Western Region Service, Distribution Center
Force America Inc. opened a Western Region Service and Distribution Center in Henderson, Colo. The 23,000-square-foot facility is more than twice the size of its previous facility in Commerce City, Colo. The new center includes a customer service center, expanded inventory and warehouse space, expanded office, training area, engineering support center and 125-hp test stand.

CST Industries Forms CST Storage
CST Industries, Lenexa, Kan., has realigned Engineered Storage Products Co. and Columbian TecTank to form CST Storage. The new company will continue to manufacture glass-fused-to-steel and epoxy-coated modular steel storage tanks in its DeKalb, Ill., Parsons, Kan., and Winchester, Tenn., facilities.

MTU Detroit Diesel to Open Carolina Engine Plant
MTU Detroit Diesel has acquired a 100-acre site and 270,000-square-foot production facility in Graniteville, SC. The remodeled plant will manufacture MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines, primarily for the U.S. market. Engine production began October 2010, parts machining is scheduled to begin Spring 2011.
