Federal Signal acquires Westech Vac Systems
Federal Signal Environmental Solutions Group, parent company of Vactor Manufacturing, acquired Westech Vac Systems, provider of vacuum truck-mounted solutions. As a Federal Signal subsidiary, Westech will continue to operate in Nisku, Alberta, as Westech Vac Systems.
Continental ContiTech celebrates one-year anniversary in North America
Continental ContiTech reported continued growth after one year of operating under the Continental umbrella. Regulatory authorities approved Continental’s acquisition of Veyance Technologies on Jan. 30, 2015. The company also announced a $7 million expansion of operations at its hose plant in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
Aereon names chief operating officer
Aereon appointed Romer Bracho as chief operating officer. He holds degrees in mechanical and industrial engineering and has 24 years of experience in quality assurance, sales and field operations, new product development, manufacturing and supply chain management.
Water Standard receives Shell contract
Water Standard secured a contract with Shell Offshore for the design, fabrication, testing and shipment of an Ultrapure Water Generation Package to be integrated on Appomattox, Shell’s floating production system in the Gulf of Mexico. The UWGP includes compact reverse osmosis and membrane deaeration coupled with demineralization process using continuous electrodeionization.

Pettibone launched a new website, www.gopettibone.com. The site features enhanced navigation, extensive information on the company’s core product lines and safety information.
Fluor receives contract for BASF chemicals project
Fluor Corporation was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract from BASF for the revamp of an alcohol and plasticizers facility in Pasadena, Texas. Fluor will convert the general-purpose plasticizer units to Palatinol DOTP, which will be BASF’s first in North America.
Wabash National expands Progress Tank dealer network
Wabash National added four dealers to its network for Progress Tank truck-mounted vacuum tanks. American Road Machinery will serve Ohio, western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Great Lakes Equipment Sales will serve Illinois. Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems will serve eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. Peirce Eagle Equipment will serve northern New Jersey and New York.
Matrox Graphics wins industry awards (Matrox-Graphics-IPX-Award)
Matrox Graphics was recognized for its Mura IPX Series of 4K capture and IP encoder and decoder cards, claiming three awards at Integrated Systems Europe 2016, including the Top New Technology Award in the Video Wall Solutions category.
Boart Longyear receives safety award
Boart Longyear’s drilling services team in Canada received the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award presented by the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia and the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada at the annual PDAC Convention in Toronto, Ontario. Boart Longyear was recognized for working more than 1 million hours without recording a lost-time incident in 2014.
VMAC appoints vice president
VMAC named Gordon Duval vice president of marketing and sales. He has 25 years of management experience in marketing and sales, including leadership roles in a variety of industries. Duval will provide executive leadership and management of VMAC’s worldwide marketing and sales efforts with a focus on driving the company’s efforts in positioning itself as a leader in vehicle-mounted air solutions.
Hyperthern earns award for ethics
Hyperthern was selected as a 2016 World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute. It is the second straight year the company was selected for the designation, which recognizes organizations for having a material impact on the way business is conducted by fostering a culture of ethics and transparency at every level of the company.
