After an EF5 tornado demolished Moore, Okla., in May 2013, Light Tower Rentals in Odessa, Texas, saw an increase in portable storm shelter rentals for drilling and fracking crews as well as petrochemical companies. These shelters, especially the Red Dog mobile safe room, provide security for employees facing harsh weather.

In the No. 6 spot is a feature story from the January GOMC issue about Hydro Spy LLC, where hydroexcavation is the bread-and-butter of the business. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how this business grew, and find out how it’s adapted to service the oil and gas industry.
At the middle of the list — in the No. 5 spot — is a tale of flares, blazing like stars against the North Dakota landscape. Those flares, which represent energy lost to many, are a business opportunity for G2G Solutions, which sets up mobile units to capture and convert the gas. It’s an economic and environmental win for oil companies waiting for gas lines.

Coming in at No. 4 is this story from the April GOMC issue about Oklahoma’s Tilley Pressure Test, which has succeeded by providing swift, accurate service to one primary customer in a niche market.
Another cover story landed in the No. 3 spot. This article, about Express University, which offers safety training and skills training in specific technical areas, intrigued GOMC readers.

And finally — in the No. 1 spot — is a story about man camps. And water. And sanitation. This article profiles FilterBoxx Water and Environmental, which brings mobile water and wastewater treatment systems to construction and drilling camps.
