Whether it comes to hauling well pipe or transporting equipment, the fixed-neck oil field float trailer from Felling Trailers Inc. can be custom-built to meet specific needs, says Nathan Uphus, inside sales representative for Felling.

“You want a specific length, width, deck height – we’ll build it.”

While no two trailers are exactly alike, model capacities range from 25 to 60 tons with 2- to 4-axle configurations.

Standard equipment consists of a Sealco brand fully sealed wiring harness, heavy-duty bent D-rings, LED lights, and Meritor axles with uni-mount hubs.

Trailer decks can be made of various woods and thicknesses, including 1 3/8- to 2-inch white oak or angelim-pedra (apitong), as well as 3/16- to 3/8-inch-thick steel diamond or smooth plate.

Options include heavy-duty tail roller, pin pockets, front pickup eye, hydraulic winch, 9- to 10-foot widths, movable king pin settings for various swing clearances, wide load lights, air-lift axles, air pop-up deck rollers, and folding landing gear.

Felling Trailers fabricates T-1 frame beams in-house using a laser cutting table and beam welder.

“We steel-gritblast all of our trailers and fully coat the trailer with two coats of paint and three topcoats,” Uphus says. The gritblasting ensures good adhesion for the polyurethane primer and paint that is allowed to flex with the trailer. Felling’s paint equipment includes a 65-foot down draft paint booth and electrostatic spraying equipment.

“What makes the trailer unique is the length, the width and the tail roll,” Uphus says. “The possibilities are endless. The trailer can be built to suit any customer’s needs.” 800/245-2809; www.felling.com.
