Fruitland’s Peter Cioruch passes away

Peter “Pete” Cioruch, a long-time employee of Fruitland Tool & Mfg., passed away Feb. 14. He was 59. Cioruch started working for the Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, vacuum pump and accessories manufacturer in 1996. Cioruch developed his industry knowledge on the manufacturing floor, and became a respected sales leader, the company said in a statement. In addition to his career, Cioruch was an athlete and craftsman. He enjoyed snowboarding, windsurfing, motorcycle racing, mountain biking, and building custom motorcycles and go-carts.

 

LBI Bioremediation Product Receives EPA Listing

LBI Renewable’s bioremediation product, DUALZORB, was listed as one of 21 products to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requirements for use in emergency oil spill response, satisfying requirements of the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan. Being placed on the list allows the product to remain in the environment after the cleanup of an oil spill on federal and state lands.

TMK IPSCO, Ferrous Metal Processing Partner on Project

Pipe producer TMK IPSCO and Ferrous Metal Processing have partnered to install a 0.625-by-87-inch slitter line at the TMK facility in Wilder, Ky. Beginning production in fall 2012, the line will be installed in a 43,000-square-foot building leased by TMK to Ferrous. The slitter will be capable of processing master coils from 30 to 87 inches and up to 82,000 pounds. Slit width capacity will range from 12 to 85 inches in gauges from 0.156 to 0.625 inch.

 

Atlas Copco Acquires Houston Service Industries

Atlas Copco North America LLC acquired Houston Service Industries Inc., a U.S. manufacturer of low-pressure blowers and vacuum pumps.

 

Kenworth of Pennsylvania Opens Service Facility

Kenworth of Pennsylvania opened a 30,000-square-foot service facility in Dunmore, Pa. The dealership has a 17,000-square-foot service department with six service bays, 3,000-square-foot parts display area and 7,000-square-foot warehouse.

 

Godwin Raffle Benefits Military Family Group

Godwin employees held a raffle that raised $4,595 for the National Military Family Association. Proceeds will enable eight children to attend Operation Purple summer camp.
