Congressman tours Advanced Drainage Systems

Rep. Robert E. Latta toured the Advanced Drainage Systems manufacturing plant in Findlay, Ohio. ADS designs and manufactures pipe and other products used in municipal storm and sanitary sewers. Latta’s visit included a tour of the plant as it was producing a large-diameter, corrugated high-density polyethylene pipe used in stormwater management.

Mitsubishi Caterpillar expands Houston facilities

Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America began the expansion of its Houston headquarters and manufacturing facility. The multi-million-dollar expansion will increase production capacity by 40 percent.

Talbert adds sales manager

Talbert Manufacturing named Ryan Creak area sales manager. He will be responsible for the Southeast United States.

Flowserve expands testing capabilities

Flowserve Corp. upgraded the open loop test bench at its Coslada, Spain, manufacturing and testing facility. The test bench covers an area of 19,400 square feet and a depth of 27 feet. It can accommodate flows to 400,000 gpm and a total differential head of 34.4 feet. The addition of a multi-size discharge manifold provides the flexibility to test pumps with discharge ports to 108.3 inches.

InduSoft releases SCADA software service pack

InduSoft released a service pack for its SCADA software Web Studio v7.1. The free software is available for download at www.indusoft.com/blog/?p=1934. Available for InduSoft Web Studio v7.1 users, the service pack adds multi-touch development capabilities for touch-screen enabled devices. Without a keyboard or point device, users can navigate screens and issue commands for an entire system.

Bosserman hires customer service manager

Bosserman Tank & Truck Equipment named Celine Gao customer service manager. She will provide product updates and support.

Vogelsang names director of sales

Vogelsang promoted Rich Owens to director of sales. The company manufactures pumps, grinders, and related equipment for the municipal, industrial and agricultural markets.

Hino Trucks names president

Hino Trucks named Yoshinori Noguchi president. He replaces Sumio Fukaya who retired in March. Noguchi has been a board member since 2010 and managing officer at Hino Motors Ltd. since April 2012.

Pharo joins DGS law firm

Milam Pharo joined Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP as counsel in the Denver, Colo., law firm’s natural resources department. He will focus on oil and gas, public lands and corporate law.

VAC2GO moves to new location

VAC2GO vacuum truck rental company relocated its Kentucky office to 2112 Button Lane, LaGrange, Ky. The new location will rent air movers, liquid vacuum trucks and combination units. The location will serve Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana. The company also named JC Spalding business development manager. He will oversee midwest regional sales as well as day-to-day operations.

Atlas Copco Group marks 140th anniversary

Atlas Copco Construction & Mining celebrates its 140th anniversary this year. Headquartered in Sweden, the company began in 1873, manufacturing products for the railroad industry. Serving customers in 170 countries, Atlas Copco came to the United States in 1950. Today it has 109 locations nationwide, employing more than 4,600 workers and generating $2.8 billion annually.

HDR acquires Salva Resources

HDR, an architecture, engineering, consulting and construction company, acquired Salva Resources, provider of technical and commercial services for mining exploration and investment. The acquisition includes Salva Resources’ exploration and mining consulting and commodity analysis group.

Werts Welding opens Colorado branch

Werts Welding & Tank Service opened a branch in Commerce City, Colo. The new store is the eighth location for the supplier of tank trailer parts. Werts also has locations in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Iowa and Montana.

Knowledge Reservoir appoints vice president

Knowledge Reservoir, a Houston-based energy consulting company, appointed Charles Severson vice president, reservoir management. He will lead the company in technical consulting and project resourcing, as well as serving as the technical lead and quality control manager for the base product lines.

Hydraulic Institute names directors, officers

The Hydraulic Institute named its officers for 2013 and new board of directors. Dean Douglas, Dover Pump Solutions Group, remains chairman of the board and Dennis Wierzbicki, Grundfos, remains HI president. New board members include Michael S. Cropper, Sulzer Pumps; John Miersma, Iwaki America, and Andrew Warrington, Peerless Pump Co. Cropper also was elected vice president, technical affairs; Miersma will remain vice president, member services, and Warrington will remain vice president, knowledge and education. Weir Minerals, Gallatin, Tenn., received certification to the ISO 9001:2008 standard conducted by Perry Johnson Registrar. Weir Minerals is certified for the design and manufacture of pipes, hoses, screen machines, cyclones and associated parts.

Cat Lift Trucks receives Product of Year award

Cat Lift Trucks’ 5,000- to 6,500-pound capacity series of electric pneumatic tire lift trucks was named a 2012 Product of the Year by Plant Engineering magazine.

Gefran names managers

Gefran, manufacturer of power controls and temperature control products, named John Rylands business development manager, power control products for North America. Mick White was named southeast regional sales manager, industrial sensors and automation products for North America, and Matt Overhulse was named Great Lakes regional sales manager, industrial sensor and automation products for North America.

Tilley receives Miner of the Year award

Cherie Tilley, consultant for Tilley Exploration and Development Company and a member of the board of directors for Copper King and Mohave Gold, was named Miner of the Year at the 2013 Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration annual meeting. The award was established by Atlas Copco to recognize mine site leaders.

Philippi-Hagenbuch partners with Trinity Mining

Philippi-Hagenbuch and Trinity Mining & Construction Equipment have partnered for water tank manufacturing and sales. Through the licensing agreement, Trinity Mining will sell and manufacture Trinity branded water tanks based on Philippi-Hagenbuch designs and proprietary technology.

E&B Green Solutions releases white paper

E&B Green Solutions recently released a white paper detailing the use of G-Clean Storage Tank Cleaner to clean 280 petroleum storage tanks as part of a decommissioning and maintenance program. The tanks had to be thoroughly cleaned to allow for bottom plate thickness testing.
